Job Purpose and Summary:

The Account Manager develops new business and maintains productive and ongoing relationships with business clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes new accounts by prospecting potential customers and planning and performing outside sales calls
  • Is accountable and responsible for all sales related activities and account planning activities and, when necessary, serves as technical expert for customers, including installs and removal of mixing equipment and inventory
  • Investigates customer complaints and follows up using company policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates the ability to market the company’s products and services during sales calls
  • Prepares sales call reports and other documentation as required by the Sales Manager
  • Takes customer orders, performs some customer deliveries, and develops inventory knowledge
  • Creates and delivers customer presentations
  • Spends a minimum of 90% of time traveling (local or regional) to customer locations
  • Performs inventory analysis at customer locations
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned


  • Ability to effectively listen to clients’ needs, quickly assess their overall business objectives, and effectively position company’s products and services
  • Previous sales experience, preferably three to five years, not mandatory but advantageous
  • Some industry experience to include PB&E preferred
  • Experience working in a 100% commission-based program as well as to have a proven track record of meeting sales targets advantageous
  • Ability to document sales calls and create reports
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets as set by Sales Manager required
  • Valid state driver’s license required with minimal tickets, and no DUIs
  • Previous paint experience beneficial
  • Basic computer skills to include the following: Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel) and Internet with the ability to learn new operating systems
  • Must have personal computer with current Microsoft Office package or company provided tablet
  • Displays a consistent positive attitude and is a strong team player who works well with others, and has a good attendance record
  • Ability to speak multiple languages preferred
